    HAWX

I can not for the life of me, get hawx multiplayer working.  I realize that hawx does its multiplayer really trippy and different from a lot of games, but I can not get it working regardless of everything I have tried.

I reinstalled blink earlier today and during the short period that blink was uninstalled, i tested it and the hawx multiplayer worked fine (this is how I know that it is a blink issue, and not an issue with the game or my router).  I have not had any problems with any of my games other than punkbuster on america's army (which was solved simply by allowing traffic to remote UDP port 1716).  Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, America's Army, Call of Duty 4, multiple steam games, and many other games all work fine after simply allowing them at the prompt.

But hawx is still not working, I have tried turning off the blink firewall, turning off the system protection, the api protection, intrusion monitoring, turning off everything, shutting down blink, adding a firewall exception for all of the hawx ports, adding the entire hawx program files folder to the kevlar exceptions in the apiex.ini, and it is still not working, it seems the only way to fix it is to uninstall blink.  I also have blink set to log all denied traffic and most everything else and the log threshold is 0, and nothing is logged, the multiplayer just still is not working.

It sounds like something more internal to Blink is causing your issue.  I would recommend running the debugging process, which is described in this knowledgebase article:

    http://www.eeye.com/html/support/kb/view.html?id=KB000802

After you gather the logs, zip them up and send them to lnicula@eeye.com and bpatten@eeye.com.  I would recommend referencing this forum post, to include the operating system your using and so forth, so they can respond to it if necessary.

ok, well just now I did get it working.  I had to uncheck every box in the options>intrusion prevention tab (disabling intrusion prevention does not work for some reason) as well as in the options>system protection tab uncheck "registry protection" and "execution protection".  and then restarted blink.  Also for some reason, sometimes i have to disable the api protection, and application protection, as well as sometimes setting the firewall default actions to allow.

I am not sure if some parts of it can be re-enabled without loss of functionality.  I am not sure if it helped, but I also added the following to apiex.ini

    C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X\*;;Kevlar;0
    C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X\*;;IPS;0
    C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X\*;;SetWindowsHookEx;0
    C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X\*;;TerminateProcess;0
    C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X\*;;WriteProcessMemory;0

Oooo, can you narrow it down to one particular set of rules instead?  Try disabling each subgroup one by one and then see which one affects your game.  If you are able to do this and find a subgroup, then see if it is one rule specifically within that subgroup that is causing the issue.
