Deep (2/3) into the installer process, after files are copied I get a dialog box that says:

"Installer Information"
"Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\eEye Digital Security\Blink\IEMimeFilter.dll failed to register.  HRESULT -2147010895.  Contact your support personnel."  Buttons are:  "Abort", "Retry", "Ignore"

We're evaluating Blink on several PCs that used to McAfee (uninstalled for now.)

That Microsoft error means: The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.

I suspect there is a problem with the VC2008 runtimes. A reboot might solve the issues or an uninstall/reinstall of the redistributable:

Yes.  This did help.  Thanks.  I had to download and install the Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package.  Then the installer completed.

However, now I have an error (warning) when Blink tries to startup. "[EEYE FILE PROTECTION] Warning!"

"Code has been modified, breakpoints detected, or a tracer/debugger is active.  Process will now exit."  [OK]

Still looking forward to running Blink...

I got it.  (No event log entries this time.)

Once I downloaded and installed Visual C++ 2008 SP1 redist. pkg, unistalled Blink and reinstalled, the startup warning went away,
