Re: Restoring Blink after upgrading to Windows 7 x64

Followed items 1, 2 & 3 successufully.  Downloaded 4.5.1 and tried to install.  Received error message (see attachment Error Again.jpg). Ran MSI Clean again and also checked files using Windows Explorer.  No Blink or eEye applications displayed in MSI Clean.  However, an eEye folder with apparently all cotents except Blink.exe are present (see attachment After Error.jpg).

Apparently it is necessary to remove the eEye forlder before installation.  Is there a problem with just deleting them?

It seems only one attachment can accompany a post.  Here is Arror Again.jpg attachment

Nope, I do it all the time.  I would also check for the "eEye Digital Security" folder located under:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files

make sure that is deleted also.

My original post referenced that you will be asked to reboot. That was not a fatal error, it just said you need to reboot and then reinstall.

Also I am not sure why you have the folder there, the batch file was supposed to rename it.

In any case, I think that after you rename the folder, you should be able to install with no issues.

Re: Restoring Blink after upgrading to Windows 7 x64

Following your original directions, no matter how many times reboot was performed the same error message displayed.

Today, reran the batch file multiple times and the eEye folder was still there.  Deleting the folder was not permitted.  Reran the batch file in SAFE MODE and the eEye folder was still there.  In SAFE MODE renamed the eEye\Blink folder to Blink_old.

Rebooted and ran install again.  Blink successfully installed.

    I appreciate your assistance.

Argggggggh!  That is good, can you successfully delete the old folder now?

No.  See attached error. Deleting the folder was attempted as an Administrator.

Have called for a full scan under Virus and Spyware Protection.  It has been running for about 8 hours.  Did this yesterday also and it ran for more than six hours before I stopped it.  Never had scans run that long before.

Go to the folder on your C: drive under Program Files and right click on it, go to Properties, and then to the Security tab.  Verify that local Administrators have full Control for that folder.  Also verify that your Administrator account does not happen to exist as a "User" under the group "users" located in the Computer Management Section

     The folder is deleted.  Thanks.

However, Blink scan is now running for more than 16 hours.

When you start a scan you can change the priority. Default is Idle which will take the longest. Can you try to run it at a higher priority?

Finally stopped scan after 24 hours.  Number of items scanned was over 650,000.  Don't think there are that many items.  My guess is that it was in a loop.

Changed priority to high and started new scan.

After changing priority to high and starting a new scan, the new scan has run for 9 hours and scanned 530,000 items.  I am now cancelling the scan.  This doesn't seem to be normal.  Do you have any comment?
