the new blink personal edition may integrate some antivirus softwares like AVG and some firewalls like windows firewalls and some third party firewalls

Dear Forum Companions, I'm a blink new user. Thus, I am in doubt If I won't need an Antivirus Scanner anylonger after I installed blink personal edition. Does blink scan all the windows file or not ? But I read at the forum announcement that the new blink personal edition may integrate some antivirus softwares like AVG and some firewalls like windows firewalls and some third party firewalls. Is that true? What do you think about it? Best Regards.

    carioca,

As I posted elsewhere I think the official word from eEye is you don't need any extra protection such as AVG, Zonealarm etc. I don't know why you feel you need any more protection than what Blink provides. I have used Blink about 2 1/2 months now and I believe any extra protection is really not needed. If you want the extra protection I guess you can go for it but I haven't had any problems with Blink and yes it will scan all your windows files for viruses and malware. I haven't seen where eEye staff said Blink will work well with other products.  Although eEye staff did say Blink works well with the Windows firewall but as far as I can tell the Blink firewall is actually better. Blink does a good job on its own. I have my Windows firewall disabled and just use Blinks firewall and Blinks application firewall. Hope this helps you!

    Cheers.
