Questions About Blink Personal vs. Professional

     Hello all!

I'm interested in using Blink on my home machines, and had a few questions I hope can be answered:

     1)  Are there any security differences between the Professional and Personal products (i.e. did anything not get ported over to the Personal version).  I'm not against buying the Professional edition if there are components that would be useful.

    2) What kind of drag does Blink put on system resources - I saw it uses 60MB of RAM;  What about processor utilization, and how does it impact broadband performance (i.e. does it slow down a user's internet throughput)?

Thanks in advance, I'm looking forward to the answers!

Re: Questions About Blink Personal vs. Professional

The advantages of Blink Professional are:

Access to eEye support via the client portal

Hidden mode is only available via Professional. Personal has only Silent , Alert only, and Interactive

Password protection for management and uninstall

SNMP alerting to third party SIMs

Operational modes include hidden and alert versus only interactive and silent

Supports the eEye Enterprise Update Server

Supports dynamic policies configurable via REM

Centralized deployment via REM or third party solution

    Central policy management via REM

    Centralized reporting via REM

Exporting of Policy Settings from Blink Personal is not allowed

    Centralized license management via REM

Supports Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 including server editions (Personal only supports Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP)

There is no difference in level of protection provided by the different solutions. Only the bullets above and default configuration settings.
