eEye Digital Security

After I download the free Blink Personal Firewall (BlinkPersonalSetup351.exe), I tried installing it.  But everytime the program start to unpack and the Wizard Installation screen comes up, I get this error just right when the wizard is doing the "computing space requirements...."

"Error 1606. Could not access network location %USERPROFILE%\Recent\. "  Clicking Reply does nothing, just keep popping up the same error message.  I had to click the Cancel button and then ok, and this error message comes up:

"Fatal Error .Installation ended prematurely because of an error. "

Looking at my Event Viewer application this is what it logs:

My pc is a Pentium III, 733Mhz, WinXP Pro SP2 installed with all the updates.

I tried installing in my notebook which is a newer computer with WINXP Home SP2, it works fine.  

Can anyone tells me why I cannot install Blink on my pc desktop computer, but I can on my notebook computer?

hi, i have the same problem when installing the driver for my hp psc 1610 all in one printer. an error halts me from continuing the installation.:

fatal error during installation:

Error 1606. could not access network location 0\.

(and not "%USERPROFILE%" will i do the same as what the link you sudgested? pls help thanks GOD BLESS )

     Have you tried shutting down Blink first and then installing your printer?  What version of Windows are you using?  This would rule out whether or not Blink is actually causing you problems.
