Stopping Blink Personal leads to System Hang

My parents are running Blink Personal Edition Version 3.5.7
They have a problem which could be the fault of
Blink . It's installed on a DELL Precision 340 Workstation running Windows XP
Professional SP2. While being logged in as the Administrator, when I Shutdown
Blink Personal from the system tray, it takes quite a long time (10s of
seconds) for the service to stop (progress bar advances very slowly). Then, no
matter what I do, Windows locks up with the next action I take...say open My
Documents, or open Internet Explorer, etc. I can't even do a reset using
Ctrl-Alt-Delete. I have to force the machine down using the power switch--power
    down.

Do you have a solution to remedy this? I need help with this ASAP.

    Thank you.

    Please do the following:

    1. Try Blink 4.0 Beta to see if this problem has been resolved (see the Blink 4.0 Forum for the download link)

    2. Follow the instructions here to enable the Full memory dump on demand: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244139

    3. Shut Down Blink and after the system is freezing, press right Ctrl-ScrollLock to take a full memory dump of the system

    4. Use the eEye Diagnostics (From the tool menu)to to Collect and archive the debugging information

    5. Send the resulted tgz file to eeye.leapfile.com with lnicula@eeye.com as the recipient

    Thanks!

    Dear Inicula,

I installed Blink 4.0 Beta (after uninstalling the current version of Blink, but keeping the license) and that solved the problem! I can shutdown Blink and the system is fine (doesn't lockup).

Thank you very much for the fast response to my post.

    Sincerely,
