    Subsription is expiring

I have a notice that my Blink Personal BETA  subscription will expire in 14 days. Can I get a new subscription, or will a final 4.0 release be available soon?

If you purchase a one year subscription you will receive a serial number which will work with 4.0 BETA as well as with 4.0 final. We are planning to release 4.0 on at the end of May.

So there is no longer a "free for home use" version of Blink?

We are no longer offering the Blink Neighborhood Watch edition (Blink Personal without AV and Vulnerability Assessment). As for Blink Personal, the first year is free and after that is $25/year.

    Cheers.

    Re: Subscription is expiring

Can you PLEASE make that clearer on the website!!

I have been trying to research this, and can't find anything..  All I see is "

    • Free Product Download

Get total PC security with antivirus, antispyware, antiphishing and data theft protection with this FREE version of Blink Endpoint Security Personal Edition."

On the website, which links to www.blinkfree.com, which redirects to free-antivirus.eeye.com which states:

    Download your Free Antivirus Software

Register now to download eEye's Award Winning free antivirus software: Blink Personal Internet Security.** Your free copy of Blink Personal is limited to personal and home use, and may not be used within commercial, corporate, or government environments.**

The section that has the 1yr/1mth information is lost in the sales hype.  PLEASE move it to sit with:

Note: Blink Personal 3.2 and later will automatically retrieve a serial number for the appropriate license period upon installation. If you have an earlier version of Blink Personal or otherwise need to manually enter a serial number please click here.

What if you purchased a 3.x license a month or so ago, with a 1 year, will that allow you to upgrade to 4.x when it comes out?

It should, see the above quote from Laurentiu Nicula:

"If you purchase a one year subscription you will receive a serial number which will work with 4.0 BETA as well as with 4.0 final. We are planning to release 4.0 on at the end of May."

My guess is it will, someone will have to elaborate to be sure.

You are correct, indeed it will allow updates of any nature (major, minor) for a full one year.

    Nicula,

If folks wait until the end of the month (when you release the official version of 4.0) and then they uninstall the BETA version, can they then download the personal version from the website, install it, and then receive their free year of usage before having to pay for it?
