    World of Warcraft

I installed Blink Personal and updated to v.3.0.10 yesterday.  I love the product so far, but seem to have had very high latency in certain internet communication, even when an application firewall rule has been established to ensure that the communication is being allowed.  For instance, the reported latency of my PC's communcation with the World of Warcraft servers is extremely high, making the game unplayable at the moment, even after allowing all protocols to all remote IPs for the application.  I don't want to "break" my Blink protection by allowing too much just to see if it helps!   Any advice?

Just reporting that I got the 3.1 beta installed yesterday and don't have the latency issue any longer.

Yes, World of Warcraft is one of many applications that has benefited from improved compatibility with Blink 3.1.  Thank you for confirming this also for us.

Strangley 3.11 Pro still gives me horrific lag 2500+ms of lag while Blink is enabled. Is the 3.1 fix only for personal or does it include pro?

I am going to bet on that it is probably the Professional edition that still has something quirky in it.  I tried it and found a few complaints and then switched back to the Personal Edition 3.1 and did not have any problems what so ever.

That's unfortunate, I had to purchase Pro since I'm working in Italy at the moment and personal is not available out side of Canada/US. It's not a huge problem, just means that I need to shutdown blink before playing but it's unfortunate that the two product lines are not in sync.

I think that's not correct, at least not for me. I'm in Spain and bought a 3 asset personal version.

    Re: World of Warcraft

I'm playing on US servers and as long as I have Blink enabled my latency mater sits around 2kms+ but within a minute of disabling blink it drops down to a more comfortable 100-200ms. I'm not sure what component is doing it but I'm going to try again now with WoW 2.1.3.6898

Have you tried temporarily disabling the "Scan on access" function in the Antivirus settings section?

    OR

Adding WOW to the exclusion list from Blink's Application protection engine.  See KB article here:  http://www.eeye.com/html/support/kb/view.html?id=KB000767&product=Blink&category=*&searchfor=Kevlar&using=Any&searchtype=&order=Hits&page=1

Just two ideas to try. :)

    Re: World of Warcraft

So after some testing I still can't seem to find the problem. I tried: * Disabiling "Scan on access" * Adding Wow.exe to kevlar exception * Disabeling select Blink services (Application Firewall, Virus ...) I was thinking, could Wow's implimention of Warden Anti-cheat system that is causing the problem? The original entry I put in my apiex.ini was: c:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\wow.exe;;Kevlar;0 but now I'm thinking of changing that to: c:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\*;;Kevlar;0 Although I know it might not be the best option and maybe another single file like scan.dll is causing the issue. With that, Is there a way to get verbose logs so maybe I can see where the problem is?

I would make sure he has upgraded to the latest version of Blink (4.1.1 as of 10Oct08):  http://forums.eeye.com/forums/t/771.aspx

After that, see the post made by Nicula here:  http://forums.eeye.com/forums/t/775.aspx

In his post he has included a downloadable "Apiex.dat" file that you can replace the current one you have in Blink.  It should correct your friends issue.
