For Windows XP users, Blink registers its state with the Windows Security Center which is the small shield that remains minimized in the system tray notifying you of the status of various security essentials. "Firewall" and "Virus Protection" will report as "On" if the following conditions within Blink are met:
Firewall: On
1) System Firewall module is enabled, or
2) Application Firewall module is enabled, or
3) both System and Application Firewall is enabled
Virus Protection: On
Virus and Spyware Protection module (named Anti-Malware in version 3.0) AND On-Access Scanning is enabled.
Both have to be enabled to register with the Windows Security Center as "On"
