After the latest update on Tuesday morning, my computer blue screens, naming eeyeh.sys as the offending file.
I was able to boot into Save Mode and rename eeyeh.sys to eeyeh.sys.tmp. Of course Blink could not start
the service. I used Add/Remove to do a “Repair”, which placed the old version of eeyeh.sys in system32\drivers.

Any idea how I can get the latest version to work correctly?
    Thanks

    Jim

An update will be released shortly to address this issue. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Is your computer a Lenovo by any chance?

So to make sure that you are getting the issue what we are going to release fix for, do you mind sending me the mini dumps for analysis.

The mini dump files can be found under c:\windows\minidumps directory.

    Send them to moh@eeye.com.

    Thanks.

Who lets blue screen dumps complete? :)

I'll undo my changes, reboot, get a complete dmp file, and get it to you.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

We just released a full installer with the problem corrected

    The installer is here: http://download.eeye.com/html/products/blink/personal/installer/blinkconsumersetup.exe

Please install this and during the uninstall of the previous version select to keep the license and configuration.

I didn't let them complete either UNTIL I realized they helped eEye.  lol

To save the reader from fumbling around like I did, the last sentence of Laurentiu Nicula's reply should be replaced with something like "After downloading the installer, disconnect from the internet, uninstall Blink Personal (e.g., via the Blink uninstall link in Start, Programs) but while uninstalling select to keep the license and configuration.  Then use the installer.

     I agree, that's much better :)

Not sure however why the need to disconnect from the Internet...

OK, this will probably show how dumb I am, but if you are connected to the internet while in an administrative-privileged account, and you uninstall Blink, aren't you vulnerable at that point?

Not really providing you have left the built in Windows Firewall on or you are behind a router at home.  The main thing is, just don't go out to the internet and surf around at all.  Really, the Administrative account should only be used to install or remove software, to conduct Microsoft Updates, or to configure the system.  That is all you really need an Administrator account for anyways.
