    Getting Beta 3.1

I would like to use Beta 3.1 to see if it solves my network problems. However, I do not know if I need a key for it. I never got an e-mail offering use of the beta. I have already downloaded the installer, but have not yet installed it. Do I need a license other than my regular license for non-bet to be able to install it? Thank you.

Postscript: Thanks for your help. I figured it out, now I hear that it is out of beta though.

Andy, while installing the Beta you will get prompted (sorry but I don't remember the exact wording) if you want to keep or remove all your rules and if you want to keep or remove your licence.

Go for it - just follow the instructions it gives you as stated...

Do not do what I did and uninstall it first... thou I am very familiar with what access my computer has to the net becase I have needed to confirm it all multiple times....

If your referring to the free license you got in your email when you originally downloaded Blink, you can use that in the Beta 3.1 version also.  If not, refill out the Blink Personal Edition registration form again, get the new free key they will email to you an then use that in the Beta 3.1.  This is what I did.

If you are using a paid for key, simply go to the top of the main Blink screen, go to help, then to license management (I think it is called this) and then select to "transfer license".  This will remove it from your current installation and allow you to use it elsewhere.

Uninstall your current version of Blink and then install the Blink Beta 3.1 version.

If your concerned with losing your settings that you have in Blink now, refer to this post on how to save them before uninstalling Blink: http://forums.eeye.com/forums/t/47.aspx

I hope this helps you. :)
