The main advantages of Blink Professional are:

    • Access to eEye support via the client portal

    • Password protection for management and uninstall

    • SNMP alerting to third party SIMs

    • Operational modes include hidden and alert versus only interactive and silent

    • Supports the eEye Enterprise Update Server

    • Supports dynamic policies configurable via REM

    • Centralized deployment via REM or third party solution

    • Central policy management via REM

    • Centralized reporting via REM

    • Centralized license management via REM

    • Supports Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 including server editions (Personal only supports Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP)

The above list is what we point out on the website; however, also, wanted to mention that the default rules and configuration are different also.  For instance, by default in Blink Personal, there are many application firewall rules already included to allow programs such as Skype, Googletalk, Thunderbird, etc. all of which are popular for the home user.  On the other hand, being targeted for the enterprise users, within Blink Professional the default list is minimal and limits the default to obvious/critical network traffic.  Users within the company that are running, for instance, iTunes or Trillian would then need the admin to add a rule to allow it per their corporate policy.

Blink Personal and Professional are derived from the same code base with the only differences being as mentioned above; however, despite the additional features, the performance delta is minimal.  We are also unaware of any differences in stability in regards to the shared features.  Possibly what you might be referring to is the Beta program that was offered for only Blink Personal users which significantly improved the compatibility with other applications and environments.  All of these changes are now available in the final v3.1.1 release of both Blink Personal and Professional; however, for a month these interim fixes were available only to Blink Personal users.
