Blink Personal Auto-Update server response errors

For the past two days when I run Auto-Update the Update Summary displays red X's to the left of the four products listed.   When I highlight any one of the four products, an error message is displayed stating: "eEye Auto-Update: The server response for application update doesn't have the required structure."

I have Blink Personal (properly licensed) installed on two PCs.  The above Auto-Update problem is encountered on both.

Re: Blink Personal Auto-Update server response errors

Starting this morning (5/3/08) I am receiving an error message with the exact same wording when attempting to auto update.

Configuration: XP Pro, SP2;  1.5Gb RAM; Blink Personal 3.5.7. Rule Ver 1443.

Also receiving an error of "The parameter is incorrect" when I attempt to export the error log.

    Anyone have any remedies?

Re: Blink Personal Auto-Update server response errors

I found a solution to the server error problem.  When you right click on the Blink icon in the System Tray select Check for Updates.  When the Welcome to Auto-Update window appears do not select Next.  Instead select Configure.  When Configuration Properties appears make sure that the green tick icon next to The update server for all applications is selected.  Note the server name - it's probably update02.eeye.com.  Click on the Defaults button on the right side near the bottom, just above the OK button.  This will change the server name to sec.eeye.com.  Now click on the OK button.  This closes the Configuration Properties window, leaving you in the Welcome to Auto-Update window.  Click on the Next button to start the update.  It will complete without errors.

It worked very nicely.  Thanks for sorting this out.

     Not that it makes sense

But I clicked on Configure then dotted the lower option that failed

then returned and clicked defaults then update finally worked for the first time in several Days

The update02.eeye.com update server should be working correctly now.

    Thanks,
