  • Re: All Rules are GONE.

You can either try resetting Blink's configuration (under the Tools menu) at the top of Blink. OR Un-install Blink, but if you do make sure you Transfer your license. More information here: http://forums.eeye.com/forums/t/946.aspx This thread might help with the un-installing Blink and re-installing...

  • RETINA Scanning Locks out Local User Accounts

We had an Oracle database server impacted by RETINA scanning. The server was scanned at 10:21am yesterday and all local accounts were locked. This server also had an account lockout duration of 24 hours set in the local security policy. Each of our servers are set with an account lockout threshold of...

  • Cannot view any rules or events.

I cannot view any events in the event log or display any rules in the firewall, intrusion prevention, or system protection. This has workled in the past. All that is displayed is the tab headings with blank lines on the page. Any ideas what caused this and how to fix it? Here's what I currently running...

  • Re: firefox gets 100% usage for 5-10 seconds with Blink on

Narrowing this down further, firefox/everything works smoothly if only the"Miscellaneous" rule category within the intrusion prevention group is unchecked (disabled). I will find out exactly which "Miscellaneous" rule is to blame when I have some time. The other rules under intrusion...

  • port 520

II'm using Blink Personal Version 3.5.1, Rule version 1427. Since I've upgraded to the latest version (3.5, I believe, with the new interface), I've been swamped with log entries every 30 seconds: Event ID: BLINK-SFW-13 Severity: Low Description: The firewall applied the default action Remote...

  • Why doesn't application firewall catch all outbound traffic?

My question is this. What could be generating outbound traffic, yet not trigger an application firewall alert? I have both application and system firewalls enabled. Default action if no appliction rule exists is "ask", and stateful mode is enabled. I am getting System firewall alerts like that...

  • Re: Can't add remote IP addresses to rules

Thank you for responding - I think I see the picture now, but I hope you'll help make sure I've got it right. :-) Within the application firewall the controls are limited - I can determine whether a process is allowed to act as a server on specific ports (or not) when it starts up. I cannot determine...

  • Can't add remote IP addresses to rules

I just installed Blink Personal (free version, not the beta), and of course it discovered a bunch of services running on first install and wanted to create rules for them - good so far. The problem is, a few of those services (inbound RDP & VNC) I want to limit to my local network and VPN, but when...
