    Tried again after disabling UAC ,,, still no luck ... same experience ... "Blink Services starting ...", then "Intializing Protection engines..." . BLINK was then active, ... left it for 15 minutes ... the clock in the Task Bar had "stopped" 15 minutes ago... the cursor...

    Thanks for your response ... I have installed the downloaded version of 4.1.3 on a Windows XP laptop and it works just fine ... my experience was always fine in Windows XP. I ran CCleaner to clean out temp files (I like to be tidy) and then to clean out my registry. I ran CCleaner to clean-up my registry...
